Key points about the role at a glance
✅ Be the first dedicated IT Systems Engineer at Valo Motion. Take full ownership of both internal IT and global device infrastructure.
✅ Lead the implementation of cybersecurity practices and build a secure, scalable IT foundation as we grow.
✅ Own and work hands-on with system-level software across our 1000+ connected gaming devices installed in 75+ countries.
✅ Select and manage the tools we use for monitoring, remote configuration, and device management (MDM, updates, OS builds, fleet health).
✅ Based in Helsinki: This is primarily an on-site role at our Lauttasaari office, due to the hands-on nature of the work.
👋 Let us introduce ourselves quickly: our team is working at the intersection of gaming and physical activity. Our products ValoClimb, ValoArena, and ValoJump combine mixed-reality games with real-world physical challenges like climbing walls and trampolines, creating engaging gaming experiences that encourage people, especially kids, to move more, while having fun!
What is the role, and who would you be working with?
As our first dedicated IT Systems Engineer, you’ll have full ownership of Valo Motion’s IT foundations. This is your chance to shape how a growing international gaming company does IT, from the inside out. You won’t just be “keeping things running.” You’ll be the one who builds the systems and ensures both our team and our global fleet of gaming devices are secure, up-to-date, and future-ready.
The systems you’ll take ownership of include internal SaaS tools like Google Workspace as well as OS-level tooling and monitoring software for our global device fleet, and the cybersecurity policies and access controls that support both. You’ll play a key role in how these systems are designed, improved, and scaled as we grow.
This is a collaborative role, and you’ll work closely with our with CTO Joni, development, and customer support teams to lead the way and improve the tools and processes that support everyone at Valo Motion.
The current setup – and why we’re hiring now
So far, IT and device infrastructure have been shared across our development, customer support, and operations teams. We have solid tools, internal policies, and a 24/7 support team helping our global customers, and things are running well.
Now, we’re ready for someone to take dedicated ownership of it all. You won’t be starting from scratch. You’ll be stepping into a functioning setup and helping take it to the next level. This role exists so others can focus on their core work, and you can bring clarity, structure, and long-term thinking to how we manage internal IT and our global device fleet.
Your key responsibilities and how your time will be divided
Cybersecurity and internal IT security (approximately 50%). You’ll roll out policies defined with our external consultants, and make them real inside the company. From access control to endpoint protection and tool selection, you’ll ensure that we’re not just secure on paper, but in practice.
Device infrastructure and global device fleet (30%). Our games run on 1000+ devices globally, and we already have a team in place that works with the systems and tooling that keep them running. Your role is to take ownership of the tools, processes, and monitoring systems that support this work and improve them further. Together with our development and support teams, you’ll ensure the device fleet stays secure, scalable, and reliable as we grow.
Internal tools & IT operations (15%). You’ll manage internal SaaS tools like Google Workspace, onboarding flows, licenses, and user access, keeping our growing team productive and connected.
Equipment and office support (5%). You’ll handle hardware procurement and on-site IT equipment, but your primary focus will be on building scalable systems, not daily support.

Critical know-how that you’ll need to succeed in this role
✅ Relevant experience: Around 4+ years in IT systems administration, preferably in a tech or product company where you’ve built and maintained secure, scalable systems.
✅ Cybersecurity know-how: Practical experience implementing internal security policies (access control, device security, cloud environments).
✅ System and tooling skills: Confident in managing OS-level tools, updates, remote monitoring, and selecting the right MDM solutions for scale.
✅ Internal IT fluency: Comfortable managing SaaS tools like Google Workspace, onboarding flows, licenses, and user access.
✅ Proactive, structured, and comfortable with improving processes and documenting them.
✅ Strong communicator: You can work with both technical and non-technical teams.
✅ Location: This is a primarily on-site role at our Lauttasaari, Helsinki office.
✅ Bonus if you have: Experience with global device fleets, hardware/software products, compliance work, or growth-stage companies.
